Theories, principles, and models underlying the organization of knowledge and the representation of information resources. The course examines various approaches to knowledge organization, drawing on theories based in philosophy, cognitive sciences, linguistics, and other related fields, and explores their application in ontologies, taxonomies, classification systems, indexing languages, folksonomies, and resource description schema. Previously ISI 5102.
