Examines and evaluates the practices of merchants, traders, entrepreneurs, financiers, marketers and profit seekers of the 15th to the 19th centuries who contributed to the development of global business and trade. Emphasizes the dynamic intertwining of markets and their social, technological, political, economic and cultural context via the analysis and discussion of case studies, readings and other sources.
