Main theoretical currents in sociology between the end of the 1st World War and the 1950s-60s. Evolutions of these theories with regard to the social and historical transformations. The institutionalization, reconstruction of sociology in Europe, and the rise to prominence of American sociology, from the Chicago School to the birth of structural-functionalism. The relations between these theories, including the tensions, conflicts and exclusions resulting from this hegemony.
