Introduction to feminist, queer, anti-racist and other theories of the social construction of gender and the use of gender in the construction of other social institutions, such as politics, education, health, labour, families, and so on. Examination of the social construction of the gendered division of labour, especially since industrialization. Canadian and Quebec examples.
