An introduction to the relationship between politics and economics in the contemporary world and of the usefulness of political economy as a critical method of analysis. Topics studied may include: the political economy of work, corporations, inequality, money, consumption, global economic crises, household labour, the stock market, the environment, development and the legacy of colonialism.
