MAT 2143 Introduction to Group Theory

Groups: Arithmetic modulo n, permutations, cyclic groups. Cosets and Lagrange’s theorem. Normal subgroups, homomorphisms, quotient groups, isomorphism theorems. Direct products and the structure theorem of finitely generated abelian groups.
