A course dealing with the genesis of plutonic and volcanic rocks and concentrating on one or more of the following - origin and differentiation of basaltic magma; origin of granite; computer modelling of partial melting and fractional crystallization; magmatism in time and space; trace elements and isotopes in petrogenesis.
