GEO 4306 Applied GIS for Science and Engineering

3 units
Geology
Faculty of Science
This course provides hands-on experience and the functional overview necessary to create GIS databases for practical projects, map data in 2D and 3D, analyze single GIS layers, pairs of GIS layers and quantitatively integrate many GIS layers of different types using GIS and geostatistical software and tools. Methodologies have applications in many science and engineering fields in which project data are of spatial type. This course enables students to apply GIS and spatial analysis techniques in their thesis and other future projects.
