ECO 2110 Microeconomic Analysis of the Public Sector

Introduction to normative and positive theories of the role of the state in the economy. Analysis of public expenditures: public goods, externalities, redistribution. Principles of taxation. Selected problems in economic policy, including public expenditure programs (such as health, education and welfare), inter-governmental fiscal arrangements and tax policy issues.
