Exploration of the relation between violence and society within historical and contemporary perspectives. Use of case studies and theories to analyze the constitution of violence as well as its function, potential and the various forms it takes. Students conduct original research in the area.

Reserved for students in the Joint Honours, Major or Honours programs in criminology having completed a minimum of 27 course units in criminology (CRM) and maintained a C.G.P.A. of at least 7.0.
