Material balances: single and multiple units, recycle and bypass, reactive and non-reactive systems. Chemical equilibrium, single-phase and multi-phase systems, solutions, phase diagrams. Introduction to energy balances. Unit operations and instrumentation. Introduction to problem solving techniques and use of spreadsheets.
