This laboratory course will expose students to advanced methods and techniques in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. The course aims to allow a student to conduct a project involving the isolation, cloning, and expression of a gene. Gene function will be tested using biochemical and cellular assay systems.

Prerequisite: BCH 3356 or BIO 3151 . Priority given to students in the 4th year of the Biochemistry, Biology or Biopharmaceutical Science programs who are not completing an honours research project.
