A survey of the history of art, architecture, and ideas from a global perspective from the Early Renaissance to the end of the nineteenth century. The introductory survey courses ART 1360 and ART 1361 are required for all undergraduate programs in the Department of Visual Arts (Bachelor of Fine Arts; Major in Visual Arts; Major and Minor in Art History), and are prerequisites for all compulsory 3000 level courses. Previously ART 2161 and ART 2361. They should therefore be taken in first year to ensure graduation on time. (H).
